Genesis Scottish Open Swings Back to East Lothian: And There's So Much More to Discover

The Genesis Scottish Open returns to The Renaissance Club from 8th-12th July, and there’s even more reason to celebrate in 2026. It's been announced that this world-class tournament will remain right here in East Lothian for the next four years, securing its place on Scotland’s Golf Coast through to 2030.

For golf fans, visitors, and locals alike, that means one thing! More unforgettable summers of championship golf, global sporting stars, and an electric festival atmosphere on our doorstep.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Firth of Forth, The Renaissance Club has firmly established itself as one of Scotland’s premier links venues. Since becoming home to the Scottish Open, the course has delivered dramatic finishes, fierce competition, and a showcase of golf at its very best.

As part of the Rolex Series and co-sanctioned by the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour, the Genesis Scottish Open continues to attract an elite field. With the tournament acting as a key warm-up to The Open Championship, fans can expect to see some of the biggest names in golf competing for glory.

Amongst those competing this year are World No1, Scottie Scheffler, defending champion Chris Gotterup, Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, Justin Thomas and 2024 local champion Robert MacIntyre.

But the Genesis Scottish Open isn’t just about what happens on the fairways.

Returning once again is Fringe by the Tee, bringing a festival feel to the tournament with live music, entertainment, and a lively atmosphere that continues long after the final putt drops. Featuring chart-toppers, The Feeling alongside British favourites Toploader, the fan zone will be buzzing day and night.

Other performances include Scottish comedian Chris Forbes, DJ sets from Kaiser Matt and Miss Mixtape plus a family friendly programme with daily interactive animal sessions from ZooLab and returning favourite Alexander the Great.
