Belhaven Bay

Belhaven Bay is a glorious extensive beach within John Muir Country Park. It is fringed by low sheltering sand dunes, rich salt marsh and colourful grasslands. The beach is excellent for walking, having picnics and sunbathing with splendid views out onto the Forth Estuary.

An ideal place to sit and watch surfers and take in the natural beauty. At low tide, you can walk across the iconic Bridge to Nowhere to access the beach and beyond!

Parking Charges:£2.50 each day. You can use your ticket to visit any coastal car park throughout the day

Payment Method:Tickets can be purchased from the on-site "pay and display" machines or using the RingGo App.
Parking Restrictions:There is no overnight parking permitted between the hours of 2200-0600. Penalty charge notices of £100 will be issued for non-compliance of parking restrictions.

On a trial basis from 1st July, there will be 3 bays available for one overnight stay (2200-0600) for £10. Visitors can pay at the ticket machine or via the RingGo App. Any vehicles outwith the parking bays will be liable for a penalty charge.

How to Get There

Car/Bike

Turn off the A1087 just west of West Barns. Follow the A1087 to Belhaven then turn left onto Shore Road. Follow this road, the car park is on your left.

Bus

East Coast Buses operates a service between Edinburgh and Dunbar.

Train

Scotrail operates a service to Dunbar from Edinburgh and there are also train services from the south stopping at Dunbar. It's only a 15 minute walk from Dunbar train station to the Belhaven Bay.
