Rising 106 metres above sea level in the Firth of Forth, the Bass Rock is an East Lothian icon!

Home to 150,000 gannets during the breeding season, it is the world’s largest Northern colony and rightly famed as one of the wildlife wonders of the world.

Known locally as the Lammermuirs, these rolling hills form the natural boundary between East Lothian and the Scottish Borders. Walking and cycling routes offer spectacular viewpoints, while attractions including White Castle and Whiteadder Reservoir make excellent stopping points along the way.
