Prestonpans Battlefield 1745 and Bankton Doocot

Visit she site of the famous Battle of Prestonpans 1745, where Bonnie Prince Charlie won his first victory. The battlefield is marked by a viewpoint with interpretation boards giving panoramic views of the battlefield. Often called the "Pans Pyramid" or "Battle Bing", which is an old coal bing, the site is now included in the inventory of Historic Battlefields in Scotland and is protected by Historic Scotland.
