Formed in 1832, The North Berwick Golf Club and the West Links course is one of the most historic in Scotland. Golf has been played over the same piece of land since well before the club was formed: only The R&A has played over the same piece of land for longer. A classic seaside links course with stunning views of the Firth of Forth, it is a fair and challenging test of golf for all players. It is a true championship course having hosted many events over the years, including Final Qualifying for The Open Championship on 6 occasions, The British Ladies Amateur Championship in 2008, The Amateur Championship in 2010 and the inaugural 2015 Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Pre-Qualifier.
Playing the course is all about imagination with the sea in play on 6 holes! The beach is just one long and sometimes wet hazard if the tide is in. You will find walls in the middle of fairways and in front of a green. All of these hazards add to the joy of playing the West Links, and are an important part of our history charting the development of the course. A warm and genuine welcome and an excellent experience await all coming to play the course.
