We are a welcoming tandem cycling club for adults living with a disability. Our supported group rides offer a fantastic way to enjoy the freedom of cycling, explore scenic coastal and countryside routes, and meet new people, all in a safe and relaxed environment. We have a fleet of standard tandems, including an e-tandem, and experienced local cyclists (pilots) to guide and support each ride.
Our rides usually start and finish at Queen Margaret University, Musselburgh, easily accessible by train and bus from across East Lothian. We ride on the 2nd Sunday and 4th Saturday of each month, with route lengths tailored to suit the group. Depending on availability, we may be able to arrange additional rides on request. Expect beautiful routes along quiet roads and cycle paths, regular breaks for comfort (and photos!), and a well-earned stop for tea, coffee, and cake. Helmets and other safety gear can be provided, just wear suitable, comfortable clothing for the day’s weather.
Riders aged 18 and over, living with a disability, along with a companion(s), are very welcome, whether local or visiting. No prior tandem experience is needed, just the ability to contribute some pedal power from the back of the tandem and a willingness to try something fun and inclusive.
We are a registered Scottish charity and an affiliated member of Cycling UK, with public liability insurance. All club organisers and ride leaders are PVG-checked through Disclosure Scotland. We don’t charge a membership or participation fee, we simply ask for a donation to help us keep things running.
Interested in joining a ride during your stay? We’d love to welcome you along!
