Discover Scotland’s Tea Heritage – A Guided Tasting Experience
Step into the rich and unexpected world of Scotland’s tea history with this immersive, story-led tasting experience. Led by certified tea expert Sandra Benn of Chiya & Chai, this 90-minute event invites you to explore how Scots helped shape the global tea trade - from 19th-century adventurers and botanists to the modern revival of tea culture right here in Scotland.
Held in a relaxed, small-group setting in East Lothian, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of three carefully selected loose-leaf teas. These include a blend infused with real single malt whisky and, subject to availability, a rare tea grown and handmade in Scotland.
As you sip, you’ll hear fascinating tales of daring tea smugglers, botanical exploration, and the Scottish figures who helped transform tea into the global ritual it is today.
This experience is ideal for curious travellers, cultural explorers, and anyone looking to slow down and savour something special. Group size 1 - 20. Optional gift bags of teas and accessories are available to enhance the experience further.
A truly memorable addition to any East Lothian itinerary.
