John Muir’s Birthplace and Glenkinchie Distillery, the Lowland Home of Johnnie Walker are delighted to invite your clients to a story-telling and whisky tasting experience in Dunbar. John Muir was known for hosting whisky soirées on cold winter nights in Yosemite, with Burns recitations and conversation. Just 3 minutes’ walk from John Muir’s Birthplace stands one of Dunbar’s oldest buildings, the historic wood panelled Council Chamber with heraldic panels provides a historic and unique setting for a whisky tasting of Glenkinchie with Muir and Burns story-telling.
This group experience begins with a visit to John Muir’s Birthplace. Guests will explore the life and legacy of this remarkable man in the house where he was born – now a unique museum and the starting/end point of the John Muir Way. Then, just a short 2-5 minutes’ walk away, in the Dunbar Council Chamber your clients will join their storyteller host and the Glenkinchie team for a fun evening with story-telling and drams. There will also be an opportunity for guests to purchase whisky and mementoes.
